Ronald J. Allen, 76, loving husband, father and brother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Janaury 22, 2014 of congestive heart failure.

Ron was born November 11, 1937 in Provo, Utah to William Kirby and Rhoda Allen.  He was educated in Orem and graduated from Lincoln High School.  He married Patricia Moore on August 13, 1964 in the Logan Temple.  He was later blessed with 3 children; Scott, Steffani, and Tyler.

Ron loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family.  He enjoyed gardening.  He spent many spring months growing tomato plants from seeds to give to family and friends.  His love of woodworking and things he made is enjoyed by many.  Ron served as a policeman and then detective (his favorite) for the Orem Police Department for 23 years.  He was very giving to anyone who needed help.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife Pat, children: Scott, Steffani, husband Mark from Bristow, Virginia, and Tyler and wife Sonya from Lehi.  There are four grandchildren.  He is also survived by 3 sisters; Mary Downs, LaRae McMillan (Kenneth), Carol Gollinger (Pat).  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Kenneth, Jesse, Shirley and sisters, Neola, Eva, and June.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 29th at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview 7th Ward Chapel at 1600 South 155 West, Orem, Utah.  There will be a viewing that morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.  There will be a viewing on January 28 at Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home at 495 South State Street in Orem.
