Carol Jean Meldrum Jensen

[October 24, 1938 - September 21, 2006]


Carol Jean Meldrum JensenOur beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Carol Jean Meldrum Jensen passed away in her home on Thursday 21, 2006 from cancer.

Our dear mom was born October 24, 1938, in Provo, Utah.  She was the oldest daughter of Marvin E. and Catherine Salisbury Meldrum.  Carol married Jerry H. Jensen on May 10, 1957.  They had six children.  They were later divorced.

Carol lived most of her life in Orem, Utah, attending schools there and graduating from Lincoln High School in 1956.  She then attended Brigham Young University.

She worked for the Alpine School District for over 26 years as a resource instructor, retiring from Cherry Hill Elementary School.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She loved working on her art projects.  She loved producing artwork for the various holidays and for her family.  She especially loved Halloween.  She also did many art projects for her school.

Carol loved her family and no service was too great.  Family meant anyone, however loosely related and many friends received her love and service on equal terms with her family.  She knew how to be a good friend.

She is survived by her children, Jerry Brent Jensen (Debbie) of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Paul Alvin Jensen (Valarie) of Santa Clara, Utah; Marvin Dean Jensen (Shane) of Orem, Utah; Julie Camile Jensen of Salina, Utah; Wendy Louise Kunz (Joe) of Redmond, Utah; Bryce William Jensen (Malissa) of Eagle Mountain, Utah.  Her brother, Larry Joe Meldrum of Orem, Utah, and a sister, Cathy Von Borstel of Idaho Falls, Idaho.  She had 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by grandsons Evan Paul Jensen and Ernie Carlie.

A viewing will be held Monday, September 25, 2006, from 78:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at the Sharon 2nd Ward Chapel, 64 South 400 East, Orem, Utah, at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the ward chapel.  Burial will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
